Requires moist, well drained soil and sun. erect stems grow one to three feet tall. White tubular flowers with purple spots from mid summer to mid fall

Medicinal Uses: whole plant used for treatment of fevers, influenza, insomnia, diarrhea and colic.

Polemonaria reptans : Creeping Jacob's Ladder

Moist, rich soil, sun or partial shade. Small blue flowers in late spring and early summer. The cultivar, 'Pink Beauty' has pink flowers

Medicinal Uses: rhizome used for colds, coughs, bronchial problems, tuberculosis, skin disease and poisonous bites

Pulmonaria officionalis: Lungwort

Tolerant of moist, clay soils and shade. Low growing plant reaching four to twelve inches tall. white, spotted ovate leaves. Funnel shaped flowers in the spring, emerge pink then turn blue.

Medicinal Uses: Flowering plant used to cure coughs, bronchitis, hemmerhoids and in eyewash

Sanguinaria canadensis : Bloodroot

Native to North America. Grows well in moist areas. White flower lasting from March to May.

Medicinal Uses: Helps relieve asthma, bronchitis and eczema

Sassafras albidium: Sassafras

Native to America, neutral to acidic soil. Sun or shade. Tree form that grows seventy feet with a forty foot spread. Suckers easily and has leaves of various shapes. Deep blue colored fruit.

Medicinal Uses: Roots and bark used to increase perspiration. relieve pain, gastrointestinal problems, syphilis, arthritis and insect bites.

Sedum sp. : Stonecrop

Full sun and well Drained soil. Bloom times range from mid to late summer and into fall

Tanacetum vulgare: Tansy

Well drained soil and full sun. Grows between two and four feet tall. Button-like yellow blooms in late summer and fall. May be invasive.

Medicinal Uses: expels worms, aids in digestion, promotes menstration, reduces blood pressure, and removes varicose veins. POISON
